Worst course I've played in a while

This is the course across the road to the old course. The wife and I couldn't get on to the old course so we figured we would give the castle course a go. This was probably the only mistake we made on our trip to Ireland. Thus course is literally in a farm feild. Links course? No where near. Links style bunkers? No way. The fairways are literally on top of one another and you have to wait until the group in front t of you is not only off the green, but off the next tee box as well (there are signs posted to do so). I really am completely disappointed in our experience at this course. I mean cmon, were in Ireland. Golf should be spectacular wherever you are in the country. I'm baffled at why the owners of the old course ever bothered building this piece of garbage. You have to check in at the main clubhouse, which is decently newer, but then you have to walk a quarter mile down the road to get to the other course and there is no starter or employee to be seen. Oh yea, no turn either. Thirsty after nine holes? Well make a trek back to the clubhouse a mile away.

I could go on and on but I'd rather just forget about this and move on.

All in all, don't go here if you are looking for a nice traditional links course on your vacation in Ireland.

Golf at it's finest!

Great course! Lots of character. Be sure to hire the services of an excellent caddie (ask for Tommy) for the ultimate Lahinch Old course experience. You will not be disappointed although you may very well be humbled when the wind starts blowing ;)
