Course Description

I have played Selkirk twice in two Freedom of the Fairways passport tournaments that I have arranged and we are back this year to. This course is a real gem. It is extremely tricky and any wayward tee shot on all but a couple of holes can cost you dear. Gorse and heather can get hold of a ball and never let go. If you don't hit a reasonable drive to the white post at the first, you can be left wondering if there is a pin on the hole at all ! I love this course and it can be a real challenge to all standards. Ditches, rough and a quarry all add to the challenge. The ninth requires real accuracy. Short will leave you deep in heather, and if there is a wind blowing (highly likely !) you could end up anywhere from the first tee to the clubhouse ! ( bitter experience speaking).

If you can play at Selkirk you can play anywhere.

Selkirk golf course is the greatest course in the World because it's got a shelter for the golfers that is about half a mile away from any of the holes, and because Gavin Henderson and Marc Phaup have played there with golf clubs and a small white Top Flite ball.
