Course Description
By Peter Todhunter (ptodhu@ibm.net)
Balbirnie Park is a fine example of the best in traditional parkland design - the natural contours being the inspiration behind the layout. With a par of 71, and measuring 6200 yards from Gents Back Tees, it is a good challenge for golfers of all abilities. It is immediately apparently to any visitor that the course is blessed with a truly superb and picturesque site, situated as it is in the heart of the magnificent Balbirnie park. The park has what is almost certainly the finest collection of rhododendrons and azaleas adjacent to the golf course.
Reader - This is a beautifully manicured parkland course 20mins south of the Old Course, St Andrews. The course is laid out in two nine holes, each being a good test of golf for all levels of golfer. A new clubhouse extension with visitors changing rooms and showers. A warm welcome and excellent food by Heather John Gough, Steward Stewardess. A very nice course and club!!
