Course Description

High above Kirkwall on the right just before you enter town from port this is an 18 hole links type course. I played it last year 1997. Very friendly Scottish welcome no fuss and quite cheap if during the week. Not too many bunkers, but very windy site. Fences for out of boundaries and many dropsand rises but not too dramatically.
I would rate it an easy course but very dependent on the weather. Not many trees but that is the Orkneys. A number of hidden holes but nothing too hard good greens well kept and some of them were stinkers.

If ever a golf course were designed for visitors then this is surely it. Superb views of the North Isles and Kirkwall can be seen from all parts of the course. The course is fairly flat and easy on the legs but is at all times a challenge to players at all levels. If you can visit, you should.

Ideal for iron players. You don't really need any woods. It is flat and easy to get around.
