Course Description
By Norman Dyce, Hdcp 5 (norman@ndyce.freeserve.co.uk)
I managed to play this wonderful course 3 times during our summer break to this area. The course is an absolute joy to play. The shortness should not put anyone off as the difficulty comes in the narrow fairways and small greens which have deceptive borrows. The views of the hills from all around the course are worth the green fee itself. From the 4th tee a local informs me that Lochnagar is in the distance.
The course is well manicured and must be a delight for the members to play this little gem week in week out. All the holes are testing but the delightful par 3 17th is an absolute joy and is a real test at the end of a round. The last hole is a difficult hole where a deep ravine must be carried for the approach to the green.
In the clubhouse we got a warm friendly reception with good wholesome food at very reasonable prices as well. The clubhouse and locker rooms were well serviced and clean and tidy. The pro shop was very helpful and friendly; the prices in the shop were as cheap as we had seen anyplace on our travels. Thankyou Kirriemuir for an enjoyable few days and believe me I won't be long before I return to play your wonderful course.
