I had the pleasure of plying "The European" in 2003 when I visited it with C4GS. Mick Watmore was the organiser, who through past visits had got to know Mr Pat Ruddy himself. As I was drawn out in the first group with Mick I had the opertunity to speak and meet Pat. What a warm welcome he gave us all. He escorted our group to the first tee and watched us all tee off. It was raining hard for all the 18 holes played, but to be totaly honest I did not know it was raining till I came back to the club house, then, I had that feeling golfers get every now and again, I wanted to go to the first tee and correct the errors I made a few hours earlier. I have re-lived that 18 holes of golf in my head, so many times now , it's like watching a old TV movie. I am a member of 2 societies and I have convinced my second society to visit you in 2005, if all goes well. It will be like going home.Roll on 2005
