Wales team attends
international golf travel market

Awarded Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year at last year's International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) in Biarritz, Wales is once again participating in this year's IGTM held in the Dominican Republic, December 8 - 11, 2003.

Wales Tourist Board representative Claire Sanders, Senior Marketing Executive for Wales Golf Tourism, will be attending with Team Wales partners: Celtic Manor Resort, Vale Hotel Golf & Spa Resort, Welsh Rarebits, Greens of Southern Wales, Wales Golf Vacations (Dylan Williams), and Activity Wales (Matthew Evans).

Activity Wales will be launching the Wales Links Championship tournament for 2005, which includes the Machynys Peninsula, a new links course designed by Nicklaus destined to open June 2004. The course design has been described, "Links breaks and pace on the greens, tight fairways, four lakes, Atlantic winds and at well over 7000 yards, only talent and not technology will tame this course." Wales Tourist Board representatives will be speaking to tour operators about the formation of a Wales US Golf Tour Operators Advisory Board.

All tour operators, trade and consumer writers and editors, and other members of the golf community are invited to stop by their booth # P26 to discuss any aspect of Golf in Wales.
